Peanut Butter Brownies

Brownie Preparation

   Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.

   Melt shortening with peanut butter in a saucepan.

   Beat egg with brown sugar, then add the peanut butter mixture and vanilla extract. Mix well.

   Add the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

   Fold in chopped peanuts.

   Grease a square baking pan and pour the batter in.

   Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
